Who Made It?

Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann came up with the cell theory after observing cells for many decades. They determined that all living things are made up of cells, that cells are the basic units of structure, function and physiology, and that living cells can only come from pre-existing cells.

Have you ever heard of an electron microscope? These microscopes use electrons instead of light to create a magnified image. Invented in 1931 by German physicist Ernst Ruska, the first electron microscope was the transmission electronic microscope.

The inventor of Life Savers, Clarence Crane, got the idea of making them round rather than square (which was the most common shape of candy at the time) after she visited a pharmacy and watched how pills were cut into small round shapes.
