The decimal number system we use today seems like the obvious choice, given that we have ten fingers to count with. But in the olden days, people counted in dozens, not tens. Hence the word “hundred” – it derives from the old Norse “hundrath” and originally meant 120.

Well, so far 365 miles of an enormous limestone cave in Brownsville, Kentucky called Mammoth Cave has been explored, and new caverns are continuously being discovered. For thousands of years, this natural marvel has been creating stalactites from water seeping through the ceiling.
