Big Ben might be the name of London’s much-loved bell, but do you know what Ben’s Parisian counterpart is called? Emmanuel! Emmanuel is the main bell swinging in Notre Dame Cathedral and weighs an impressive 13 tonnes. There’s no word on whether Emmanuel and Quasimodo got along though.

Alexander Hamilton lied about his age in order to support himself. He needed to find an apprenticeship when he was 13 years old and thought that if he said he was 11, he would have an easier time finding a position. He landed a job as a clerk and a few years later, his writing impressed so many people that he was sent to New York to be educated.

Jenga may sound like a made up word, but it's not! It actually comes from the Swahili word 'kujenga' which means 'to build'! The name was chosen because the game has its origins in Africa and because the whole point of the game is to continue building an ever more precarious tower from wooden blocks.
