The belief that a four-leaf clover brings good luck dates back to at least the 17th century. The earliest mention is believed to be in a 1640 play by Sir John Melton. He mentions that keeping a four-leaf clover in the garden is good for protecting against a skin condition called Purpura.

The outer rim of the iris does not change, in comparison to the inner rim, which does! It’s due to different muscles expanding and contracting in folds or in a circular motion depending on the type of muscle. Our beautiful irises can even have freckles!
