Charles Darrow developed Monopoly in 1933. When he sold the game to Parker Brothers, the cards were handwritten, and the houses were made from wooden molding scraps. Darrow’s nieces suggested that metal charms from charm bracelets be used for the pieces.

In some regions of Japan, traffic lights are red, yellow and blue instead of green. This is due to the Japanese language where for centuries, the same word, “ao”, was used to describe blue and green. A word for green has evolved later, but Japanese traffic law still uses the archaic term.

Comparing Fortnite’s achievement on iOS with other mobile games demonstrates its success. By comparison, Super Mario Run cleared 100 million in downloads in 68 days, essentially less than half the time. This puts Fortnite in a category alongside Pokémon GO, which also cleared 100 million downloads on iOS in 71 days.
