The coldest weather station is on the North Rim at the Bright Angel River Station, while the hottest and driest is just 8 miles away at Phantom Ranch!

The first four-way traffic signal that resembles what we use today was installed in Cleveland, Ohio on August 5,1914. It only had red and green lights and was operated by a police officer. There had been other attempts to control traffic, but the signal in Cleveland was the first-ever successful traffic light.
