In ancient Egyptian religion, the scarab was a symbol of resurrection, immortality, transformation and protection used in funerary art. These beetles were found all over Egypt and were a popular design for good luck charms and jewelry made from clay and gems.

The Grand Canyon is incredibly massive and has so many sudden changes in elevation that it creates its own weather. Temperatures and precipitation vary drastically from one part of the canyon to another. The coldest weather station is on the North Rim at the Bright Angel River Station, while the hottest and driest is just 8 miles away at Phantom Ranch!

The first four-way traffic signal that resembles what we use today was installed in Cleveland, Ohio on August 5,1914. It only had red and green lights and was operated by a police officer. There had been other attempts to control traffic, but the signal in Cleveland was the first-ever successful traffic light.
