Known as the “Red Snake” for its unique red-colored bricks, the “Great Wall of Gorgon” was a 121-mile wall that extended from the southern coast of the Caspian Sea to the Elburz Mountains in what is now Iran. It was once thought to have been the work of Alexander the Great.

Have you ever heard of Anna Maria van Schurman? She was a Dutch artist who lived in the 17th century. Her incredible learning abilities and outspokenness gained her admission to the University of Utrecht – she was the first woman ever to study at a Dutch university. Anna Maria spoke 14 languages and wrote “The Learned Maid”, a defence of female education.
