The development process for Fortnite was a long and arduous one. Development was slowed on numerous occasions due to a whole host of issues, including the shift from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal 4, a focus on deeper role-playing mechanics and a dramatic shift in tone from the dark and morbid original theme to the more cartoonish style we’re familiar with today!
