We all love it when the leaves change colors in Autumn and walks in the park become an absolute pleasure. But do you know why this happens? Leaves change their color in response to chilly temperatures and less light because they stop producing chlorophyll – the green pigment that helps leaves capture sunlight to power photosynthesis.

When author Ian Fleming was trying to find a name for his new character, he came across the book “Birds of the West Indies”, written by ornithologist James Bond. Fleming deemed the name perfect, because it was the dullest one he had ever heard, and he considered 007 extremely uninteresting.

If you’ve ever wondered why the most common color of bubble gum is pink, it is because it was the only dye available. An accountant named Walter E. Deimer, invented bubble gum by stumbling on a unique recipe which made the gum stretchy but not sticky. When it hit the market, the gum sold out in a day!
