Believe or not, the first McDonald’s was a BBQ shack in San Bernardino, California. Brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald opened the first restaurant in 1940. Eight years after it opened, McDonald’s switched its focus to hamburgers, shakes, and pies. Ray Kroc purchased franchise rights from the brothers and the golden arches appeared across the country, and around the world!

Do you like to dance? Humans have the ability to move their bodies in time to an external beat. The only other mammal on Earth with this ability is the sea lion! When researchers at the University of Santa Cruz rescued a sea lion, they discovered that she was able to learn how to dance.

Historians believe that the full version of Hold ‘em that we now know (where all 52 cards are in play) only became the norm back in 1834. Prior to that, the deck consisted of 20 cards amongst four players and the best hand was bet on. A very different way of playing indeed.
