Historians are not positive if turkey was eaten at the first Thanksgiving. The meal served that day may well have been duck, geese or swan, as all were regularly eaten in the area.

The owl is a symbol of Halloween which has been around for a very long time. During the Medieval era, the owl was thought to be the animal form of a witch. People were deeply superstitious of the owl’s nighttime hunting activities and it was even said that to hear an owl’s hoot was a sign of a bad superstition.

Between the 1590s and 1660s, the optical microscope was developed by Zacharias, Hans Jensen and Anton van Leeuwenhowek, among others. Anton van Leeuwenhoek used the simple compound microscope to observe bacteria in droplets of water!
