It’s fascinating that the largest animal ever to have lived on earth, the blue whale, feeds on nothing but krill, shrimp-like creatures that are among the smallest sea-dwellers. But it takes 36 metric tons of krill a day to allay an adult blue whale’s hunger. That’s the weight of 25 cars!

Whilst it may have Chinese origins, ramen has now become a distinctly Japanese phenomena, with countless varieties across the different regions. For example, the snowy climes of Sapporo, Hokkaido favour a warming miso ramen, whilst Tokyoites prefer a soy-based brother known as Shoyu Ramen.

The sunset can resemble a spectacular ball of fire as it drops to the horizon because of the Earth’s atmosphere. Our atmosphere acts as a prism, scattering the light and creating a marvelous visual effect. The closer to the horizon the sun dips, the more it starts to lose its blue wavelength hues.
