Dmitri Mendeleyev presented his periodic table of elements at the Russian Chemical society on March 6, 1869. His table was based on increasing atomic weight. It was not, however, the first attempt at organizing the elements. In 1864, Lothar Meyer published a table with the placement of 28 elements.

There’s more to Pythagoras than his theorem, you know. He established his own religious group, living a secretive existence of vegetarianism and Apollo worshiping. They were called the ‘Pythagoreans’, and are believed to have influenced subsequent secretive groups with great influence, such as the Freemasons and other secret societies.
