Between the 1590s and 1660s, the optical microscope was developed by Zacharias, Hans Jensen and Anton van Leeuwenhowek, among others. Anton van Leeuwenhoek used the simple compound microscope to observe bacteria in droplets of water!

Mozart sold more CD's than any other artist in 2016, beating out Beyoncé, Drake, and Adele, despite each of them having a Grammy-winning hit that year. The reason being for this head-scratching fact is that a Mozart box-set was released that year commemorating the 225th anniversary of his death. Needless to say they sold like hot-cakes.
