Harvard University was the first place where the field of forensics was employed to solve a crime. After a fatal dispute led to a professor’s death under suspicious circumstances, the new science was used to solve the case.

Charles Darrow developed Monopoly in 1933. When he sold the game to Parker Brothers, the cards were handwritten, and the houses were made from wooden molding scraps. Darrow’s nieces suggested that metal charms from charm bracelets be used for the pieces.
