Alfred Mosher Butts, a New York architect, invented the popular board game Scrabble in 1931. He wanted to create a game which involved some luck and a lot of skill (and a large vocabulary)! Butts decided on the point-values of the letters by studying the front page of the New York Times.

The owl is a symbol of Halloween which has been around for a very long time. During the Medieval era, the owl was thought to be the animal form of a witch. People were deeply superstitious of the owl’s nighttime hunting activities and it was even said that to hear an owl’s hoot was a sign of a bad superstition.

How long would you imagine the longest card game in history was? A few hours? A few days? Maybe a month? Well, according to The Bird Cage Theatre in Arizona, the longest game of cards ever ensued within their very walls.
