The 13th century Franciscan friar Roger Bacon predicted the invention of the automobile, aircraft, and the submarine. He wrote, “cars can be made so that without animals they will move with unbelievable rapidity” and “flying machines can be constructed so that a man sits in the midst of the machine revolving some engine by which artificial wings are made to beat the air…like a flying bird.”

The dragon fruit is actually a cactus! It's native to parts of Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and El Salvador but is now grown in tropical areas all over the world. The name is believed to have originated from its dragon-like appearance including its tough outer layer, complete with spikes that look like scales.

In 2014, researchers came up with a game featuring the biggest pop hits from the 1940's. They concluded that ‘Wannabe’ by the Spice Girls was the catchiest song of all time. It took people an average of 2.3 seconds to identify the song! Other catchy songs included ‘Mambo Number Five’ by Lou Bega and Survivor’s ‘Eye of the Tiger’.
