Have you ever heard of an electron microscope? These microscopes use electrons instead of light to create a magnified image. Invented in 1931 by German physicist Ernst Ruska, the first electron microscope was the transmission electronic microscope.

Turkeys don't have teeth! Instead, swallowed mouthfuls of food enter an initial chamber which uses stomach acid to begin softening the food. From there, the food travels to the anatomically wonderful gizzard (the gastric mill), where muscles, often aided by small stones, smash it into small pieces.

It's thought that oranges get their name from the Sanskrit word for fragrant – naranja. The use of the word 'orange' to describe a cross between red and yellow wasn't recorded until three hundred years after the fruit appeared in Europe.
