Animal Eyes

Turkeys have great eyes. Their vision is sharp, and their peripheral vision is downright enviable. Humans can see about 180 degrees, but turkeys, with eyes planted on the side of their heads, can see 270 degrees. Wait, there’s more – turkeys also have superior color vision. They can even see ultraviolet light! Wowsers!

In its original form, the popular board game Scrabble was simply a bunch of tiles — there was no board in sight! It was also first called “Lexico,” but was later changed to the far more catchy name we now know.

For Thanksgiving lunch, we usually end up eating domesticated turkeys that have been bred for the table. Wild turkeys are a bit different and can actually fly short distances! They achieve speeds of up to 55 miles per hour!
