The clothing company Uniqlo has been growing in popularity since its start in Ube, Yamaguchi. The store started out as "Unique Clothing Warehouse" until it was shortened to "Uniclo". During the bureaucratic process, it was misread as "Uniqlo". Despite the mistake, or perhaps because of it, the name stuck.

Producers weren't sure whether or not Jennifer Aniston would be able to play Rachel on Friends because she was also in another pilot. While shooting promo photos, she was asked to step out of a few shots just in case she couldn't appear in the show. Thankfully, this didn't happen!
