No one can say that Whitney Houston wasn’t phenomenally talented. She sang back up for Chaka Khan, Lou Rawls, and Jermaine Jackson when she was just 19 years old! Houston was also a highly sought-after model. She was the first woman of color on the cover of Seventeen and Glamour magazines.

The game, Operation, was a college project. An industrial design student at the University of Illinois was tasked with designing a game or toy. The game was a hit with his fellow classmates and the idea was soon bought by Marvin Glass and Associates for 500 dollars (approximately 4000 dollars today)!

Dmitri Mendeleyev presented his periodic table of elements at the Russian Chemical society on March 6, 1869. His table was based on increasing atomic weight. It was not, however, the first attempt at organizing the elements. In 1864, Lothar Meyer published a table with the placement of 28 elements.
