Lucky Spin

Charles Darrow developed Monopoly in 1933. When he sold the game to Parker Brothers, the cards were handwritten, and the houses were made from wooden molding scraps. Darrow’s nieces suggested that metal charms from charm bracelets be used for the pieces.

Both male and female turkeys purr, whistle, cackle, and yelp, but the most recognizable sound – the glorious gobble – is only produced by males. The gobble is a male turkey’s version of a lion’s roar, announcing his presence and warning rivals to stay clear. Sometimes, in order to really get his message across, a male turkey will gobble from the top of a tree.

It might take some time to find lost things again. An Austrian fisherman dropped his wallet in a lake. 20 years later, he found it in his fishnet. And weirdly, there is a comparatively large number of people who found their long-lost wedding rings in the carrot bed...
