Spot the Difference

Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann came up with the cell theory after observing cells for many decades. They determined that all living things are made up of cells, that cells are the basic units of structure, function and physiology, and that living cells can only come from pre-existing cells.

Turtles can very easily mistake debris, like plastic bags, for food. Anything we leave behind in the oceans can be ingested by these beautiful creatures. Even if turtles somehow avoid eating the debris we leave behind, they can become entangled in plastic bags, buoy lines, discarded fishing gear, and ghost nets. This can lead to serious injuries or even death.

The 13th century Franciscan friar Roger Bacon predicted the invention of the automobile, aircraft, and the submarine. He wrote, “cars can be made so that without animals they will move with unbelievable rapidity” and “flying machines can be constructed so that a man sits in the midst of the machine revolving some engine by which artificial wings are made to beat the air…like a flying bird.”
