Whilst now considered a rather posh indulgence, the practice of consuming horse meat actually came about when the city was under siege. The trapped inhabitants ran out of other food, so had to turn on their beloved horses.

The world’s most expensive instrument is the Lady Blunt Stradivarius violin. It was sold for a record price of $15.9 million! The beautiful and costly violin was auctioned by the Nippon Music Foundation to help raise money for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.
