Korczak Ziolkowski started carving the Crazy Horse memorial in 1948 in honor of the Lakota tribe war hero just eight miles from Mount Rushmore. The sculpture is still unfinished, but once completed, it will be 563 feet high and 641 feet long! The work is slowly continuing but it is destined to be without question the largest sculpture in the world.

If you’ve wondered why slot machines have pictures of fruit on the wheel, then you might like to know that in the 1880s era, slot machines were used to dispense fruit flavoured chewing gum. The machines dispensed tokens as well which were exchanged for drinks. Now they pump out coins! What a colorful history indeed.
