Spot the Difference

Purple was expensive to the ancient Greeks. It's believed the color was discovered by a scholar when his dog bit into a sea snail and stained its mouth purple. Phoenicia, the region where purple dye was manufactured, meant "land of purple" in ancient Greek.

The average age of a contact lens wearer is thirty-one years old and they are most likely female. People often wear contacts for cosmetic reasons, but there are practical benefits as well. These include better peripheral vision than glasses, they don't have to be cleaned when it's raining, and they allow the wearing of goggles or sunglasses.

There is a factory in Japan which can run unsupervised for 30 days at a time -- it's almost entirely manned by robots. In 2012, NYU-Poly constructed a robotic fish and placed it in a tank of golden shiners. The robot simulated the fishes' motions so well, it was eventually accepted and became their leader.
