Eleanor Abbott invented the beloved game, Candy Land, for children recovering from polio. Abbott sent her game design to Milton Bradley, and in 1949, Candy Land was sold to the public. The game is now available in CD-ROM, can be played on hand-held electronic devices, and has even had many special editions.

The founders of Google met by chance. Sergey Brin, a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, was assigned to show Larry Page around the prestigious campus when Page visited to see if he wanted to attend. Page, who was 22 at the time, had just finished earning a computer engineering degree from the University of Michigan.

Tucked away in the mountains between France and Spain, you might hear Basque. It's a language spoken in this region of the world and it has no relation to any other known language. Guess the inhabitants of this area didn't travel much. Pretty crazy, right?
