The Vikings have the reputation of being savage barbarians – however, that is not entirely true. They were mostly focused on establishing trade routes and had a complex and nuanced culture. The unfavourable image of Vikings as brutal raiders originates in written reports by monks, who were frequent victims of Viking pillages.

The word ‘labyrinth’ comes from the Ancient Greek and means something that is unsolvable or impossible to get out of. You can also use the word ‘labyrinthine’ in English to describe something that is incredibly complex.
