Microscopes have contributed greatly to modern medicine. Before the development of the microscope, many believed that illnesses were caused by spirits or poisonous gases. The invention led researchers to identify bacteria and other microorganisms, leading to the development of effective and life-saving medicine.

Conjunctivitis is a type of inflammation of the conjunctiva which makes the eye look pink or red. Some causes are having a cold, animal hair allergies, or catching it from someone else. Most of the time, it clears up on its own, but a doctor may prescribe antibiotics to treat it, depending on the cause.

The world’s lion population used to be much larger. The mighty cats once roamed throughout most of the warmer countries of the world. Only two populations are left, however. There are a few hundred lions in Gir, India and the rest of the world’s lion population exists in the sub-Saharan region of Africa.
