Hundreds of years ago, Robert Hooke published a book called Micrographia that included hand-drawn images of samples observed under a microscope! Hooke, who we mentioned in a previous fact, is often credited as the discoverer of cells, after studying cork under the microscope.

Hummingbirds are small. Bee Hummingbirds are so small that they’re sometimes mistaken for insects (hence the name)! They’re the smallest bird in the world and are two and a quarter inches long and weigh less than a dime.

The Aztecs used cocoa as currency during the height of their civilization. This indicates the extent to which these prized beans were valued under the Aztec reign. How could they stop themselves from consuming their money? They must have been very disciplined people!
