Autumn, especially in poetry, has often been associated with sadness. The possibilities of summer are gone, and the doom of winter is on the horizon. Skies turn grey, the amount of daylight drops rapidly. Many people use it as a time of rest and reflection, just like animals use the colder seasons to hibernate.

Barack Obama won a Grammy in 2005 as a Senator from Illinois. In 2008, he won a second time in the same category: Best Spoken Word Album. His 2005 album was called "Dreams From My Father" and his 2008 album was titled "The Audacity of Hope."

It's hard to believe, but sugar was once considered a spice and not a sweetener! It was grouped with spices such as ginger, cinnamon, and saffron. And before it was used as a "spice" it was added to fruits and spices to make medicinal syrups, powders, and infusions!
