The Sullivan Island Lighthouse in Charleston, SC is the most powerful lighthouse in the Western Hemisphere. It originally had 28 million candelas, but the light was too strong, and the power was lowered to 1.2 million candelas. Even with this change, light beaming out of this lighthouse can be seen over 26 nautical miles away!

Do you know what the biggest reptile in the world is? It is the saltwater crocodile! These beasts can weigh up to 1000 kg and grow to be 6 meters long! You’ll find them in brackish wetlands in India, Southeast Asia, the Sundaic region to northern Australia and Micronesia!

Eleanor Abbott invented the beloved game, Candy Land, for children recovering from polio. Abbott sent her game design to Milton Bradley, and in 1949, Candy Land was sold to the public. The game is now available in CD-ROM, can be played on hand-held electronic devices, and has even had many special editions.
