However, some animals have evolved, developing long tongues, to reach past these sharp things and feed on the leaves of the plant.

Turkish tradition says that the Nazar or eye bead shields its owners against evil and absorbs negativity. The belief comes from the lack of blue eyes people born in the Middle East and Mediterranean, leading to the superstition that those with light or blue eyes could curse someone just by looking at them.
