Charles Darrow developed Monopoly in 1933. When he sold the game to Parker Brothers, the cards were handwritten, and the houses were made from wooden molding scraps. Darrow’s nieces suggested that metal charms from charm bracelets be used for the pieces.

French poet Arthur Rimbaud wrote all of his poetry as a teenager. He then decided to give up creative writing altogether aged 19. Despite being so young, he produced some of the best poetry of the 19th century.
