Before the reusable plastic boards were introduced, Battleship was played with sheets of grid paper and a writing tool! It wasn't until 1967 that the plastic boards and small plastic ships were finally used in the game. They proved so popular that the paper version was retired.

Research from Britain has shown that the most commonly lost items are keys, phones, pens and glasses. That’s hardly surprising. What comes as a bit of a shock, though, is that the average person loses a staggering 3,000 possessions over the course of their lifetime, including 64 umbrellas!
