Let’s put a rumor to rest. Our bespectacled statesman, Ben Franklin, never proposed the turkey as a national bird. He was fond of the turkey, and yes, he did say that he thought the turkey 'a much more respectable Bird’ than the eagle, but he also thought the eagle was an appropriate symbol for our fledgling nation.

The first season of ‘American Idol’ had two hosts. Ryan Seacrest hosted alongside Brian Dunkleman, who quit the show after the first season and appeared later on ‘Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp’ years later in 2008.
