Hertha FC was founded in 1892 by a pair of brothers. They chose the name because one of the founders had taken a journey on a ship called “Hertha.” The ship had a chimney that was painted blue and white, which is why, naturally, the club’s colours are also the distinctive blue and white. The ship still exists.

“Cotton Eyed Joe” was a massive hit in 1995 and remains a popular party anthem today. But who is Cotton Eyed Joe? Well, there are a number of different theories, which even pre-date the song, with many believing him to be an urban legend.

Another strange character that the DC Universe introduced was the Hemo-Goblin, and whoever invented this one needs to be checked out. The Hemo-Goblin was a white supremacist vampire who drank AIDS-infected blood and solely fed on black people. Who the hell comes up with something like this?!
