Oreos came about in 1912. They were preceded by the Hydrox Cookie. There was also an Oreo cereal launched in 1998, but it was discontinued. However, if you ever find yourself in South Korea, you can still pick up a packet. There are also currently online petitions to bring it back elsewhere!
