In Elizabethan England this was the name given to thunderclaps. And a ‘fribbler’? This term was used to described a man who was besotted with a woman but too afraid to commit to marriage. And a ‘giglet’ is a merry and light-hearted girl!

Fans of the books may remember the notorious ghost, Peeves. His scenes were actually performed by British comedian Rik Mayall but were later cut when the director decided he no longer liked the look of the ghost.

Remember the classic horror film "Scream" from 1996? Well, you may also recall the moment when the killer smashes his head through a window about ten minutes into the film.
