The Wollemi National Park, stretching from the Hunter Region to the Blue Mountains has more than 300 native species of mammals, reptiles, frogs and birds. This area was severely affected by the bush fires. The world heritage parks will take years to recover from the disaster, and experts are uncertain of the long-term impact of the habitats of the flora and fauna that thrived there.
