For approximately 200 years, microscope technology remained relatively unchanged. In the 1850s, however, Carl Zeiss, a German engineer, developed improvements for the device! Joseph Jackson Lister also helped eliminate the unequal bending of light hitting the microscope lens, leading to further improvements!

The idea for Fortnite came from an internal game jam at Epic Games around 2011, just after the release of Gears of War 3. It never became one of the developed titles in the jam, but the concept of merging the likes of Minecraft with the shooter genre intrigued the folks at Epic and eventually, it led to the creation of Fortnite!
