It’s fascinating that the largest animal ever to have lived on earth, the blue whale, feeds on nothing but krill, shrimp-like creatures that are among the smallest sea-dwellers. But it takes 36 metric tons of krill a day to allay an adult blue whale’s hunger. That’s the weight of 25 cars!

The popular board game Operation was initially developed as a college project. An industrial design student at the University of Illinois was tasked with designing a game or toy. The game was a hit with his fellow classmates and the idea was soon bought by Marvin Glass and Associates for 500 dollars (approximately 4000 dollars today)!

In Nebraska, there is town called Monowi that has one resident. Yes, that's right, one! Elsie Eiler used to live in Monowi with her husband before he passed away in 2004. She is the town's mayor and librarian and is responsible for paying herself taxes.
